for the house to exchange and complete…
Here we are, surrounded by boxes and feeling like we’re being held hostage by useless solicitors and banks who couldn’t organise a p***up in a brewery…
When we accepted the offer on the house back in mid-October, our buyer asked if he could be in before Christmas – we said ‘no’ for various reasons, and then agreed to exchange on the 14th December, with completion on the 4th January…
Oh look! we’re still here…
We’ve had a house survey, a structural survey and a drain survey – because we are ‘within 30 metres of a public sewer’…? The latest holdup? our buyer’s buyer has had to have an asbestos survey done…which then has to go back to a solicitor, and then to another solicitor, and then who knows…maybe exchange early this week, and complete on Friday….?
At this point, I think you’ll agree we just have to laugh – because the alternative may put me in prison!
My next post will be from Woody – in France….
